North East India Expedition

This 10 day tour is the complete expedition of North East India. It features beautiful places of North East India such as Guwahati, Assam etc. We will see lots of mammals and birds, you can build a list of more than 300 species on this trip.

The tour begins in Delhi where you’ll overnight following your arrival. The next morning, we will be travelling to Guwahati where we’ll spend one night.

Guwahati is called Gateway to North East India. We will visit cultural places and will do birding specially for Greater Adjutant Stork which is highly endangered.

Our next stop is Manas National Park which is hub for Indian wildlife especially Macaques where we will spend two nights. It has recorded 55 species of mammals, 380 species of birds, 50 of reptiles, and 3 species of amphibian. The fauna of the sanctuary includes Indian elephants, Indian rhinoceros, gaurs, Asian water buffaloes, barasingha, Indian tigers, Indian leopards, clouded leopards, black leopards etc. The park is well known for species of rare and endangered wildlife that are not found anywhere else in the world like the Assam roofed turtle, hispid hare, golden langur and pygmy hog.

Next, we will visit Nameri National Park where we will spend two nights. Nameri is a birdwatcher's paradise with over 300 species. The white winged wood duck, great pied hornbill, wreathed hornbill, rufous necked hornbill, black stork, ibisbill, blue-bearded bee-eaters, babblers, plovers and many other birds make Nameri their home. We will do birding through boating in Jia Bhoreli (Snow fad) river. It is an ideal habitat for a host of other animals including the tiger, leopard, Hog Deer, sambar, dhole (the Asiatic wild dog), Gaur, clouded leopard, leopard cat, Barking Deer, wild boar, sloth bear, Marbled Cat, Himalayan black bear, capped langur and Indian giant squirrel.

Our last stop is Kaziranga National Park where will we spend three nights. It hosts two-thirds of the world's great one-horned rhinoceroses, is a World Heritage Site. We will do Safaris here and witness Tiger, Rhinos and small mammals include the rare hispid hare, Indian gray mongoose, small Indian mongooses, large Indian civet, small Indian civets, Bengal fox, golden jackal, sloth bear etc. along with more than 150 species of birds. We’ll also have chance to see Vultures.

We will cover the Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary, formerly known as the Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary or Hollongapar Reserve Forest to see Hoolock Gibbon and it is also hub for Macaques like Assamese Macaque, Pig-Tailed Macaque, Stump-Tailed Macaque etc. We’ll also see lots of birds including Trogan.

On our last day, we will travel from the Guwahati to Delhi where guests will connect with their return flights to home.
